Transfering data from a 2012 MBPro to Mac Mini,

I dont see migration assistant on my 2012 MBP

The Migration Assistant app should be located in the Utilities folder which is located within the Applications folder. You should also be able to initiate the transfer by booting the new Mac and having Setup Assistant locate your old Mac:

Either method should be fine.
