I sent a message to someone but it linked to someone else’s phone and sent to that phone also. Why did that happen?

I sent a message to someone but it linked to someone else’s phone and sent to that phone also. Why did that happen?

The only way two phones would receive the same message is if they share an Apple ID, the same phone number, or has message forwarding enabled, or if you accidentally sent a group message.

It doesn’t unless your contact info for the person is wrong or the other people share a number/Apple ID
Okay the number and Apple ID are different. Why did it do that?
