Pragmatically, the word “virus” is largely only used in advertisements for stuff you probably don’t need, and stuff that might well be harmful to your security or privacy. Vendors including Microsoft have built-in tools for dealing with that. Apple has built-in tools for iPhone, as well as the app scans when apps are added to the app store, and other checks for those app store apps, and Apple can remotely disable apps that are later found to be problematic.

If you’re an official in a government or a corporation, or have access to sensitive or classified data, or have access to financial data or to great wealth, or you’re a criminal or political dissident or investigative journalist, or otherwise of interest to a government, the security calculations here do change.

Unless you've jailbroken your iOS device, you cannot possibly have a virus, or any other type of malware.

What makes you think you have a virus?

Don't jailbreak it.

There are no known viruses in the wild that can infect an iPhone that is not jailbroken.

Any messages saying you are infected are attempts to scam you.
