I receive texts on both my iPhone and iPad but do not receive texts on my iPad (but do on my iphone) from a few of my contacts.

OMG - it worked!! MMS was on. I turned on the SMS but did not have a Text Message Forwarding options. I turned off the phone and when I turned it back on it was there! I turned on my iPad and it WORKED!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
On your iPhone open the Settings app. Tap Messages > Are SMS and MMS turned on? And in Text Message Forwarding, is your iPad selected?
