Do you have a WiFi+Cellular model of iPad - or WiFi Only? WiFi Only models have no cellular hardware at all - and therefore do not have a physical SIM slot.

If you do have a Cellular model iPad:

Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPad - Apple Support

Should the SIM itself require replacement, you will need to contact your Cellular carrier - or for an AppleSIM, replacement SIMs can be purchased from an Apple Store.
