iPhone 13 mini, iOS 15.5. Screen rotation lock is off, zoom is off. I can rotate between Portrait and Landscape just fine in Mail and Safari, but Messages won't rotate - it's stuck in Portrait. How can I get Messages into Landscape mode?

Does that still persist after restarting your iPhone? Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
If so, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support so they can look into this behavior further: Contact - Official Apple Support

Okay, try this. Force Messages to quit. Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
Restart your device again: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
Then reopen Messages and test with the zoom off and the smaller size font set.
Test if that is the only app still not rotating. Thanks.

If you go to Settings > Display & Brightness > View, is that set to Standard or Zoomed? If it set to Zoomed, try setting it on Standard and then see if Messages will work in landscape mode.

Yes I did restart the phone. No difference.
Good suggestion! It was zoomed and I put it back to standard. But alas it still won’t do landscape. I restarted and set text size to the smallest but still no relief.
Ok I did that, no improvement. I tried Mail, Safari, Notes and Photos. All rotated fine just not Messages.
