Updating from Catalina

does monterey remove prior updates of catalina (several gigs of information I can't remove)

Always make a backup before upgrading.

That will keep your documents safe

can this downloaded os update be found and removed? I unchecked the "download new updates when available" too late, and now Catalina appears to have been downloaded to my computer and I'm already really tired of being asked daily if I',m ready to restart my computer and "finish" the install.
