Lost/stollen IPAD

Find my was turned off, child misplaced the ipad and I am trying to find it. Help with other ways than Find My? Icloud.com is only wanting me to erase or lock the device. I want to know if it is possible to turn on Find My with my appleID or through that some way.

iPad, iPadOS 15

Find My cannot be remotely enabled. If Find My was not enabled on the device, prior to being lost or stolen, the opportunity has been lost. There are no other technical means by which to find a device.
