My iphone X has not been making sound when a text comes in. I've checked my settings - notifications - messages and all are turned on. My ringer is NOT silenced. My iPad Pro makes a sound but the iphone doesnt!

old issue , new issue, what changed? restart, ie power off/on,

reset/ or a Force Restart,
Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
Update your iDevice - current stable release, including bug fixes iOS 15.6
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
