I can't seem to be able to back up my Macbook Pro locally using Time Machine. I no longer have the Time Capsule, and though I've followed instructions to set up backing up to iCloud, I only see my iPad and iPhone with any backups. I unchecked the automatic backups in the preferences thinking it was linked to the non-existent TC. Now, I can't "recheck" the backup automatically box in the Time Machine. At this point, I'm stumped.
FYI, iCloud is not a backup. iCloud is a file syncing service which allows files to be shared between multiple devices. If a file is modified or deleted from one device, that file is modified and deleted from all devices.
