How do I stop Apple from using my old phone number?

Apple is finding my old land line number which I no longer use. I use my cell. I have checked all devices and all show only my cell number. I have checked appleid.apple.com. How do I get Apple from using my old phone number?

I have checked appleid.apple.com

You have to dig down in icloud to find it sometimes:

1) Go to icloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID

2) At the the top of the page find this:

''and click, "Manage."

3) The brings up another sign-in screen; make it so.

4) Under your avatar and email address in the left side, click "Personal information":

5) Any phone numbers Apple have for you are under "Reachable at..."

6) Click that to edit/delete.

You may be surprised by what you find there. Mine still shows an email addy I've not used in a year.
