the easiest way is with apple's Time Machine. please see Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support

and a good strategy will incorporate some redundancy. maybe two separate copies of Time Machine kept up to date, as well as a copy of your backup off-site in case of fire, theft or natural disaster.
