To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock

From a web browser, sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.

Go to Find iPhone.

Click All Devices at the top of the screen.

Click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.

Click Remove from Account.

I have the same issue. I had to reset my phone so now the iwatch is not paired with the phone anymore.

I am not getting a reset option on the watch and I have the “too many passcode attempts reset Apple Watch and pair again” message. I logged into iCloud and selected the erase option but it is pending, waiting for the iwatch to connect to the internet. 😩
