Hi, checkmatemusic… i’m just a Mac user here same as you… i don’t work for Apple or Avid or any of that… have you checked Avid’s support page for Pro Tools? As they are the maker of Pro Tools… so here’s the link : . https://www.avid.com/pro-tools… they also have a community section along with “Get Help”… i tried to open the site on my iPhone and Safari but it doesn’t like it ( no bueno) …. But… i was able to find this compatibility chart from Avid which details which versions of its software/applications will work with the M1 chip and either Monterey or Big Sur MacOS… see this link : https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/compatibility/macOS-Big-Sur-Support… as for who told you that… well… i dunno exactly who that was… maybe you do… i don’t… as for returning your Mac Mini M1 to the Apple store or another Apple retailer, well, i’ll leave that up to you to decide… i think you have 30 days… you might wanna follow up on what i posted before deciding to return the whole enchilada… have you contacted Apple support or Avid before this ? I know apple support has a 1-800 number plus email, and i’m willing to bet that Avid does as well… so maybe give ‘em a shout or a whistle….

hope this helps
