How do I delete apps that my Mac won't let me delete?

Why are Apps like Spotify protected from being deleted from my computer? Can somebody please help? It should be a simple thing to do right? Delete an app you don't want any more? Please help!

The Apple built-in apps can’t be deleted.

Some third party apps load background helpers and the like which load at login.

Check your login items against your name in system preferences and disable any which belong to the app you’re trying to uninstall. Restart normally and try uninstalling again, using the developer’s method if necessary.

Another way is to startup in safe mode and then uninstall the app.
