HomePod mini Setup Issues - I Have Tried Everything

I have tried every suggestion on here, I have three HomePod minis and they all do one of two things when I try to set them up: 1) Setup asks for my iTunes password and then fails with error 301014, or 2) setup seems to work but HomePod stays in "configuring" forever. I have a US account, only one WiFi network (ASUS mesh network, although they failed setup the same way when I had a Google WiFi mesh), and I have tried every suggestion in this thread and all the other threads, including wiping out my extensive HomeKit home and rebuilding it from scratch. Calling Apple did not help. Lots of rumors out there, like HomePods don't like to be setup on mesh networks or dual-band networks, etc. Nothing solid to go on. Anyone find a way to fix this? These minis are not ready for prime time.
