Keyboard malfunctioning after downloading Ios 15.6

I have tried every reset and also reset the iphone but the keyboard still malfunctions and does not type the letters I touch but adjacent ones.

Can you help please?

I also have a question. In order to restore a back-up, must the iphone be cleaned out completely or can the back up replace and supplement data which is present in the iphone?

My iphone is iphone 11 pro max

Thanks,

Martin

You would need to restore to factory settings in order to restore a backup

Quick fix;

First try a Forced restart

Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

How to Backup, restore to factory,  then restore from backup:-

(1)          How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

(2)          Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

(3)          Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Chances are the screen needs replacing.

It would be coincidental with updating and would have gone anyway.

try this

Faulty patchy screen or keyboard user tip

https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-250004876

Then arrange a repair https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/service

Or

 https://support.apple.com/contact

Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price is in the article under "Other damage"

Thanks for your help. I have previously restored the iphone to factory settings and when I tried to restore the back up it gave me an error message. Luckily I could restore some data from an old iPhone via bluetooth. But I am scared to try it again as I might lose the data that is backed up.

All these issues because of the faulty keyboard, that did not improve even after I restore the phone to factory settings. I did not damage the phone. This all happened after I downloaded iOs 15.6
