iTunes Match
I’ve had iTunes Match for a couple of years now. I’d originally had it’s master folder on an iMac 24” polycarbonate. And this synced with various other devices MacBook iPod touch and so on. But the limited space I had on the iMac even with a 1TB drive ment I wanted it on another machine that could handle the storage. Up pops my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 as this has four internal bays I can have a dedicated 1TB media drive just for this. So I went about moving the drive music over, through a time machine backup. I partially new of issues when sync before where music would not show up as playable (grayed out) even though all the music (500 albums) I have on cd. So after some double checking making sure any missing cd’s were added. I removed all the login’s for all the machines I’d though had at least a sync in the past to make sure nothing was duplicated and the Mac Pro could be sync as master. All this seemed to go well. I even signed out of previous i devices as well. However signing into the account iTunes Match is on, on my iPhone XS seems to have added missing tracks yes but, and here’s the long winded issue. Parts of the old sync seem still to exist like albums I needed to rename on the Mac Pro as iTunes didn’t do it right. I of course re-synced after to make sure the changes were synced globally. Am I missing something in my approach.
or will iTunes Match use the bones of the old and original sync. It seemes fine on the Mac Pro? But the I device is more confused.
