What are badges? When I am selecting my preferred Settings for various apps etc., there is often an option to turn "badges" on or off. I don't understand how badges are used or who uses them? Are they some sort of useful tool for Apple Inc., or are they something that will provide a valuable service to me? Lol?
Please explain in layman's terms.... lol... Thank you in advance for any assistance.
I think you mean notification badges. A notification badge is simply the red bubble that appears on the app in the Home Screen, like in the picture below-
