Share photos WITH metadata - particularly GPS

I want that other (iPhone) users can send me their photos with metadata on request. However, even if they switch on location services for their camera and send the photo afterwards via Email to me, I only get the photos with dates and time, but NOT GPS data. When I send photos from my iPhone to myself, then the metadata (including GPS) remains intact and linked to the photo. What is the reason that other iPhone users cannot send me their photo with GPS data?

Hi ___neo___, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are not receiving the metadata on photos that you receive.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

How are you receiving the photos? Which app or feature is used to send the photos?

In the meantime, we recommend that you check for a software update.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.

Also, we'd like to set your expectations.

Sending yourself a photo is a great way to isolate the issue.

Since you are able to get the metadata on the photos you sent yourself, there is quite likely that the issue is within the sender's device.

Take care!
