For no apparent reason sometimes tabs in a tab group become unresponsive and show no content and cannot be deleted.
This was driving me crazy, but until a fix arrives (good luck with that!) I found a way to deal with this problem:
1) Create a new tab group named "Dead Tabs"
2) Right-click on the offending tab and move it to "Dead Tabs"
This gets rid of the troublesome tab, and you will find that no tabs accumulate in "Dead Tabs"

I've been noticing this problem for a few months. Sometime, when I try to reload these dead tabs it crashes Safari. I often restart Safari and reload all from the last session so I can close these tabs.
Its good to know its not just me.
This continues to happen to me every week. I'd love to know if Apple is aware.
