I've seen several other people recently post on these forums with this error when using third party NVMe SSDs. It is hard to say what the problem is since I haven't personally seen this issue and the information from users has been very limited. It may just be an issue which Apple has introduced with a macOS update, although I think one user was running an older unsupported version of macOS which would tend to possibly rule this out. I tried looking at the EtreCheck report but much of it is confusing as I don't read French so I will need to leave possible software issues to the others.

From reading these forums it seems like the Sintech SSD Adapter is the preferred adapter as it seems to be most compatible & reliable.

Run DriveDx and post the complete text report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper so we can examine the health information from the SSD.

Also run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. Keep in mind the diagnostics may report an issue with the SSD because you are using a third party SSD & adapter so this may be perfectly normal unless the diagnostics passed previously.

To me the "Loss of MMIO space" would imply something is wrong with the laptop's memory, or macOS or an app interfering with the memory somehow since "MMIO" is Memory Mapped I/O. I've never seen these errors before so I have never looked into how this process works with an SSD. Except for the ProtonVPN software I didn't see anything else that stood out, but I also don't understand several of the software entries since they are in French which I don't understand.

FYI, you should enable TRIM on the SSD:

sudo trimforce enable

It is also possible there may be a firmware update for the SSD.

Below is the analysis of the supplied Report.

I would serious suggest making a Time Machine Backup right way and if possible make a second TM Backup on a separate External Drive ASAP.

Q - Fichiers sans signature - Il y a des logiciels installés qui manquent de signature. Il est possible quâ  ils puissent être malveillants. Il faut les examiner.

A - Self explanatory and will required the User to review application for update / upgrades and or outright replacements to bring in line with Monterey

Q - Paniques du noyau - Cet ordinateur signale des paniques du noyau. Câ  est peut-être à cause dâ  Ã©chec de matériel.

A - Panic Reports are often associated with Hardware failures and / or Kernel Extensions install on this computer

Q - Aucune sauvegarde Time Machine - Sauvegarde Time Machine backup pas trouvée.

A - Under this present setup - All Personal Data is expendable and not with protecting.

Do you have a Rescue Plan In-Place. This comprises having 3 Backups using 2 methods and 1 Off Site incase of Theft, Loss or Natural Disasters. A Time Machine Backup  is very useful.

For addition purposes - two Tested Clones each to separate external drives. This is insurance incase the upgrades goes sideways. At least one Tested Clone and / or Time Machine Backup should be Off - Site

Q -  Fichiers sans signature - Il y a des logiciels installés qui manquent de signature. Ces fichiers peuvent être vieux, incompatibles, ou les causes des problèmes. Ils méritent une vérification.

A - Unsigned Files - There is software installed that lacks a signature. These files may be old, incompatible, or cause problems. They deserve a check

MacBook Air (13 po, début 2015)

Q - disk0 - CT500P1SSD8 500.11 Go (SSD - TRIM: Oui)

A - This is an After Market Drive  and it may be failing thusly the Panic Report.

A - The MJVE2LL/A and MMGF2LL/A configurations have 128 GB of flash storage and the MJVG2LL/A and MMGG2LL/A configurations have 256 GB of flash storage. Neither configuration has a hard drive. The higher-end MJVG2LL/A and MMGG2LL/A configurations also could be equipped with 512 GB of storage at the time of purchase for an additional US$300.

Apple does not intend for one to upgrade the storage after purchase, but it is quite possible.

Q -  macOS Monterey 12.5 (21G72)

A - Current version of Monterey is version 12.5.1 as of Aug 17, 2022

Q - [Pas engagée] ProtonVPN OpenVPN - version 3.0.1 (ProtonVPN AG - 2022-06-14)

A - Commercial VPNs   should only be used if Mandated by Corporate Head Office for working remotely. Otherwise - ones Privacy and Security touted by the VPN is suspect.

 Q - [En marche] NetworkExtension - version 1.0 (Juuso Salonen - 2021-09-15)

A - Commercial VPNs   should only be used if Mandated by Corporate Head Office for working remotely. Otherwise - ones Privacy and Security touted by the VPN is suspect.

Q - Pas engagée] ProtonVPN WireGuard - version 3.0.1 (ProtonVPN AG - 2022-06-14)

A - Commercial VPNs   should only be used if Mandated by Corporate Head Office for working remotely. Otherwise - ones Privacy and Security touted by the VPN is suspect.

Not too good at Panic Reports so alternative as per below.

Understand, we are all working Remotely from all around the world.

Therefore, we do not have the On-Hands experience the User ( you ) has with this computer.

The next best thing for us to having a semi - actual On-Hand experience on this computer is to follow the steps below

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

The application is free or paid from added features.

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.
