Cannot sign in to App Store on iMac Pro

I have seen previous questions (now locked) about not being able to sign in to the App Store. I have been having the same issue since updating to Monterey. I had to download Xcode from the Developer website instead of the App Store because of this issue.

After the latest software update, I no longer have the 2FA issue with signing in with my Apple ID on the iMac Pro. I am successfully logged in with my Apple ID in System Preferences as well as Music (iTunes). However, when I try to sign in to the App Store, it takes my password without telling me that it is wrong but I am still not signed in afterwards. The "Sign In" button still appears in the bottom left corner instead of my profile picture and trying to Get any apps just hangs.

What happens when you start the App Store from the Dock?

Then click Store.

You are almost there . . . .

Try this -> System Preferences -> Apple ID -> side bar click Overview -> Sign Out.

Restart of the iMac Pro, then sign in back.

Unfortunately, that did not work. Here's what happened:

1) I signed out of my Apple ID in System Preferences and rebooted the computer.

2) I tried to sign back in to my Apple ID in System Preferences and successfully made it through the 2FA with the verification code. My profile picture did not show up but my name did.

3) I went to the App Store application and the Sign In button was still being displayed. I tried logging in with my Apple ID and nothing happened. No error but also not signed in.

4) I went to Music to login to my iTunes account, which worked. I can see all of my information.

I then tried many variations of signing out, rebooting, and logging back in but I never got the 2FA verification prompt again. Two things to note are that 1) every time I login to the computer account, I get a prompt to sign in to iMessage; and 2) System Preferences says that I need to turn on iCloud, but when I do, it takes me to the Apple ID login again and I enter the password and then nothing happens (no error, no 2FA request).
