Apple Watch - Unable to check for update

I can't completely setup my Apple Watch Series 2 with my iPhone 13. It keep on prompted me "Unable to check for update - Check your internet connection"

I have the same problem. The problem seems to be that the latest IOS update is IOS 16 which is not available for iphone 7. I guess that means we can't update the apple watch unless we buy a new iphone. My ipad just died with hardware failure after less than 3 years. Thanks Apple.

I had tried all the methods and guides that were searched from the net, but nothing one can helps and resolves my issue here. Now my Apple Watch can't even can use without pairing it as the screen just keep asking me to complete the pairing process.


Extremely appreciate it if someone here can guide me further.


I suspect Apple ONLY allowed specific internet traffics from their dedicated service centres to be able to communicate with their Update Server. Means have to visit Apple's Service Centre to connect their centre's internet wifi for updating, of course will be billed with service charge. I hope this is NOT TRUE.

Hello! I have Watch SE, but i cant upgrade to watch os9. I use Iphone 7, upgraded to latest IOS for this model (15.7) and when i open my watch app and tap on Update software messages comes out- ''To update the software on your apple watch, you first need to update the software on your Iphone''. I do that (latest version is 15.7). I open my watch and tap on software update then message comes out- ''unable to chek for update. An error occured while cheking for a software update''. Restart watch or Iphone they dont help. Can you help me?
