Beats Studio Buds left earbud clicking noise

My left earbud has started making a nonstop clicking noise that is constant whether audio is playing or not. I reset my earbuds and the problem is still happening.

Hello micahthemenace,

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. We understand you have some clicking noise coming through your left Beats. We're glad to hear you already tried resetting them. Let's look at some other steps that could help.

  1. Make sure the device you have them paired with is fully updated. Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  2. Make sure the firmware for your Beats is updated. About Beats Updater - Apple Support
  3. Test them with another device. This will narrow down if the issue is your Beats or your device.
  4. Test a wired set of headphones or your phone speaker to confirm if you hear the clicking noise or not.

If the issue persists after those steps, walk through these steps. Make sure to test your Beats for the clicking noise after each step:

  • Toggle Bluetooth off and back on in Settings (not Control Center)
  • Restart the iOS device
  • Restart the Bluetooth accessory
  • Ensure your Beats are fully charged
  • Remove any case from the iOS device
  • Disable Wi-Fi in Settings (not Control Center)

Lastly, see if you can determine if you hear the clicking noise when in a specific location. This will help isolate any potential sources of interference. If after all those steps, the issue persists, we'd next recommend reaching out to our support teams directly. You can reach them here:
