I want Time Machine to back up an external Samsung T7 ssd drive. However, when I go to "Time Machine Preferences" and bring up the list of excluded items that drive is grayed out and I'm unable to remove it from the "excluded items" list.

The external drive is not formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and it needs to be if you want Time Machine to back up the drive.
