I have an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2015) and upgraded to Monterey Version 12.6 with new Safari. "You can’t open the application “Safari.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac." appears when I try to open. How do I get Safari back?

That sounds like it should be right.


I found this other thread, where apparently an issue with Safari 16.0 was resolved by reinstalling Monterey:


Monterey 12.6 update - Safari 16.0 is cra… - Apple Community


Reinstalling Monterey, as explained in this support document, does not erase your data; but do make sure to have a Backup, always.
