Will using the AirPods Pro 2 foam tips make any difference to the sound?

I'm just about to upgrade to AirPod Pro 2's from my first series Pro's. The firmest of the ear buds is the same for both, but Apple say the only difference is in the mesh which protects the inside from dirt, wax etc... However I like to swap these for memory foam tips which fit better are more comfortable and mould well to your inner ear giving better sealing. My question is, will using the foam tips make any difference to the sound, they're generally perforated paper or plastic type substance, but have different perforations to the OM Air Pods.
