Malware Monitoring on MacBook Pro
I have macOS Big Sur, v. 11.7 running on my MacBook Pro. Do I also need a malware detection app/software like Avira to keep my mac safe?

No. Everything you need to keep your Mac safe is already built into the operating system. All you have to do is to maintain a sensible attitude (which will keep you safer still) when browsing the internet and dealing with emails.
