Siri does not respond to commands on iPhone

This is absolutely ridiculous. I literally almost got in a car wreck trying to respond to something important while driving. In the age of LLM ai this is stone age-- and for all the safety features apple tries to bake into carplay, this is a worse

danger. And absolutely only this wild guess fixed it? Sounds like proof apple is falling behind with voice assistance.

With LLM artificial intelligence coming forward in google facebook and microsoft products-- yeah, there's nothing to understand here. We shouldn't have a million users randomly testing other siri languages to find a fix. It's a bug.

Curious if anyone else is experiencing Siri misunderstanding spoken words you’ve used almost daily.. questions seem to be pulling the incorrect answers even though the screen shows the correct wording!

I ve now try reset settings, reset network, language changes, phone reboot. When using a headset Siri responds, no reaction with the built in mic. My mic works fine. Tested it with Shazam playing low volume music at the other end of the room. I think this started after the last update of iOS. I am not a little annoyed with the lack of interest from apple! Sort it out!!!! Pretty please with sugar on the top. This might be the last apple product I ll ever buy!

For those that keep repeating the same stuff over and over, let me be clear:

1) Resetting network settings - no difference.

2) Rebooting iPhone - no difference

3) Clearing language cache, changing Siri speaking options - no difference

4) I refuse to change language to UK English - why should I? Why have language options if you can't use them - very logical!

It's a bug and Apple need to fix it. Nothing has been done about this for years and we are expected to put up with it.

iPhone dummy here, I’ve mistakenly hit a wrong key and Siri has stopped working. I was getting the spinning circle and touched another wrong something and now she will not follow any commands and the circle is spinning so slowly! I changed the language to US and no help, I now have a blue audio symbol in the upper left corner. Any ideas, please? What will happened with the current problems if I set a factory reset? What will I lose, etc?

I’m with you. I need Siri, as well as other iPhone features to work correctly in the background while I’m driving or performing other tasks that require my attention, and it gets worse over time. This backwards marketing of limiting the effective life of the product to a short couple of years has me constantly reconsidering my attachment to Apple, sometimes even regretting my migration from Microsoft. Sorry for the rant

I also refuse to change to U.K. I shouldn’t have to find a work around that ultimately is inaccurate regardless of what degree or what way. Instead of me fixing the issue by switching to U.K how about apply fix the issue like they should have already done? When 99% of people wil accept subpar lazy bs and find odd ways to fix it and accept whatever that brings with it , well of course they aren’t gonna do anything. I could easily switch to u.k. Apple could have easily fixed the issue years ago. Can someone really say of the two , the person paying for a Service should have to work around the issue rather than it being fixed as it should?

my hey Siri isn't working..

I've had my phone for around a little over a year and at the beginning my Siri worked really well but recently it stopped working like it used to and it won't respond to when I say hey Siri or when I do get it to listen to me it just goes away right after I give it the command and I don't know what to do.

English UK is not an option on my iOS

This fixed it for me too! I had tried several other common suggestions from google that didn’t work first.
