How to sync multiple IMAP account settings from Mac to iPhone?

I swear that back in the day, adding an imap/carddav/caldav account on one device, caused that account to show up on other devices on my account. Just asking to verify the password.


Now, it’s gone. Yet, when I delete an account from settings, it asks me if I want to remove account from all devices. Even though that doesn’t do anything.


What am I missing?

Emails do not sync between devices.


Each device syncs to the email client server using the internet. Thus if one device is not connected to the internet it may not sync with the client-server and will not refresh with the actions taken on the other devices. They need not be on the same WiFi.
