Samsung T7 SSD

Hi


Trying to connect a Samsung T7 SSD to my MacBook Pro running Monterey. Plug in SSD, registers in Finder. Download software from SSD. When I try and use the disk by clicking on the software I'm told SSD is not connected. Is this a faulty disc or is it simply not plug and play with my system. Or is it faulty?


Grateful for any help.
