Thank you for your assist. Unable to update to Big Sur or Monterey.
Have more than enough disc space to accommodate updates. Perhaps my
iMac simply isn't compatible to the two latest operating system updates.
Any other suggestions?

What is the model year of your iMac? Click on the Apple menu at the top left of your screen and then click on About This Mac to get that information.

Nothing he can do to update to Monterey -- but may be able to update to other operating system versions (see the original question above).
