I try to log into my Apple ID, but for the two-factor authentication, it is sending a verification code to a number I no longer use

I'm trying to use a different apple ID on my phone. I know the email and password associated with this account, but when I log in, I'm asked to complete a two-step authentication. Since I haven't used this account in a while, it was associated with a phone number that I no longer use or remember

See if anything here helps.  If necessary, you can use account recovery as explained in the link at bottom of the article.

If you can get a code and sign in, you need to change/add the number on your Apple ID. Look in the Security section when signed in online. You may have to add the new number before you can remove the old number. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime on all devices/computers.
