Cannot download/play a purchased song

I recently found a song I really like but realized it wasn’t on Apple Music, but that it was on the iTunes Store. I thought this was strange but I didn’t mind paying a dollar. Now after purchasing it, I can’t put it in my playlist, stream it, or even play more than the preview. Can I fix this or should I just give up/attempt a refund?
