Alarm Vibration

Hi, so since my switch from the iPhone 12 Pro to the 14 Pro, i have troubles with my alarm. Firstly it doesn‘t vibrate anymore while the alarm goes off. Before it was never an issue. I had my 12 Pro set to „dont play haptics when in silent mode“

so it only vibrates when a call or alarm goes off. But my 14 Pro, when in silent mode, doesn‘t vibrate anymore when the alarm rings. It only vibrates when i put in the „play haptics in silentmode“ Of course it‘s logical that it doesnt vibrate but my old phone did that despite having set the „play haptics in silent mode“ off. When i set a custom vibration it also doesn‘t work. So short: Alarm only vibrates when the „play haptics in sm“ is on. But then i have the problem that i constantly wake up from messages because it vibrates annoyingly.

Of course i can put in do not disturb, but the issue that arrises is that i don't get any notification at all. Also not on my watch. Means when someone is spam calling me in case of an emergency, then i dont notice it. Yes you can put in exceptions and if someone calls in a short period a couple of times it doesn’t get silenced. But I just want it to be as it was. Because it was perfect like that.

Second issue, like a couple people already posted, you can‘t set a custom song, which u bought, as an alarm. It will keep using the standard alarm sound and not the chosen song. Also a bit annoying. Or am I not seeing something? And i suppose its more of a software issue than an hardware issue.

Thanks for taking the time to read all that!

Hello naponabarte,

We're happy to help. If you don't have 'Play Haptics in Silent Mode' turned on, then it's expected for haptics not to play when your iPhone is in Silent Mode, which includes when the alarm sounds.

Choose when your device vibrates
1. On iPhone 7 and later, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics. On earlier iPhone models, go to Settings > Sounds.
2. You can choose if you want your iPhone to vibrate when set to Ring or Silent mode. If you turn off both settings, your iPhone won't vibrate.

You'll find more information here: How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode - Apple Support

Next, if you want to receive notifications from certain apps or contacts when Do Not Disturb is turned on, we'd suggest setting up a custom Focus with the filters you want to accomplish that. These steps show how to set up filters in a Focus:

Add Focus filters
When you set up a Focus, you can add app filters that determine what information apps will show when the Focus is on. For example, you can show your work calendar only while your Work Focus is on.
1. Go to Settings > Focus, then tap the Focus you want to add filters to.
2. Scroll down to Focus Filters, then tap Add Filter.
3. Tap an app, then select the information you want to see from that app while the Focus on.
4. Tap Add.

You can also use system filters to turn on system settings, like Dark Mode and Low Power Mode, when a Focus is on.

You'll find theses steps and more information in this support article: Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

For the issue with songs not playing when you select them as your alarm sounds, you'll want to be sure you used Apple Music and downloaded those songs on your iPhone with the guidance in this link: Add music to iPhone and listen offline - Apple Support

If the songs still aren't playing and you've ensured they're downloaded, you can reach out to Apple Support directly for more help here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care!
