Street maps gone from my Apple Maps?!

A week or so ago, I opened Apple Maps on my desktop (Mac Studio running current Monterey) and there are so streets, only a blank grid. When I search out a location, the info bubble appears and points to nothing.

The satellite view shows the aerial imagery but with no street names and minimal labeling.

Is there anyway of fixing this that is easier than an OS re-install??

Thanks!

I did some further research, found quite a few non-working solutions, but finally struck gold with this one:

The solution, thanks to Charlie74 on AskDifferent is to quit Maps, delete ~/Library/Caches/GeoServices and reopen Maps.

Thanks Charlie, wherever you are!!
