Why is the number of authorized computers different from the number of computers in Manage Devices?

I have 5 authorized computers. Only 4 Managed Devices in the Downloads and Purchases section of Account Settings in iTunes. Does that make any sense? How do you view what computers are "authorized?"

What is the difference between an "authorized" computer and one that can download purchases and subscriptions?

See the following user tip that discusses authorizations vs association: Authorization vs. association - Apple Community

Also not that you cannot view a list of authorized computers but you can "Deauthorize All" and then authorize any computers that you still want to use. See the instructions in the following article from Apple support: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support
