Magic Trackpad

Just purchased a Magic Trackpad to use with a Mac Pro Late 2013. Trackpad comes with a lightning to USB C cable. Instructions to pair with the computer require using this cable to connect to the Mac Pro, which has only USB A and Thunderbolt ports.. Is there a way to pair the device to the computer via Bluetooth? Alternatively, what is the best USB C to A adapter to connect the Trackpad to the computer?

The cable isn't for communicating with your Mac; it is for charging the trackpad after the initial setup.

The trackpad can connect with a Lightning to USB-A adapter or cable.
