Clipboard

The clipboard isn’t directly accessible. When you “copy” content, it is copied to the internal clipboard - this being a temporary storage location - from where it can be “pasted”. Each “copy” action replaces the previous content copied to the clipboard.

You should note that the native clipboard does not maintain a history.

It’s hardly useless - but the iOS/iPadOS clipboard does, perhaps, offer different function than that to which you may be accustomed when using other computers.

Without a clipboard, the copy/paste function wouldn’t work at all.
