iMac does not have a System Preferences under the apple icon and thus can not choose Apple ID

I want to set up an account recovery but my iMac does not have a System Preferences under the apple icon and thus can not choose Apple ID

In macOS 13, System Preferences was renamed System Settings. Do you see System Settings under the Apple Menu? You can also go to your Applications folder and open System Settings there.
