The latest IOS update (16.1.1) on my iPhone X installed Apple weather on the lock screen. How do I duplicate that same weather app on my Mac?

It's already on your Mac. It's been part of the system for some time. Look in the Applications folder:

along with Old Toad's reply, if you add the weather widget to Notification Centre, if you click the widget, it will open the weather app.
Thank you, Old Toad, it did not occur to me to check the Apps folder. Duh! That’s exactly what I was looking for.
