My iPhone 14 Pro Max is missing the Satellite SOS feature. I’ve upgraded to iOS’s 16.1, 16.1.1 and now 16.1.2. The feature is not in settings:Emergency SOS. It appears it WAS NOT “pushed to my phone as it was to others’

Has anyone else had this experience? Did you resolve? How?

Additional info:

I live in Montana,USA

Verizon is my carrier

iPhone was set up as new, not from a back up.

Updates were all successful, done “over-the-air”

I have no other issues with my phone.

I have a support case but Apple seems to have no clue or care I am missing this feature. Why tell the public this feature has been released in the US & Canada when it is clearly not available to all or even working in the entire Continental US?

Was this iPhone possibly acquired from China mainland, Macao, or Hong Kong?

An iPhone built for and sold in China mainland, Macao, and Hong Kong areas does not have satellite hardware. Being those are also the only dual nanoSIM iPhone models sold, those models can sometimes tend to get around; what can be termed grey market sales and transfers else-planet.

As for the lack of SOS originally reported here, contact Apple Support, and discuss this with them. Please let us know what they state, too, as this is all rather new.

I live in the US, ordered from Apple US for use in the US. My phone has no physical SIM card slot, e-sim only. Manufactured and delivered from China like 99% of all iPhones sold in US… Not sure what you’re getting at or relevance to topic?

Thank you for your input. As stated in my original post, I already have a support ticket opened. It’s going on two weeks now with nothing helpful from engineering. Since the entire corporate staff including engineering will soon be vacationing for two weeks during the holidays, I turned to this community in hopes for some solid solutions.
