My Apple gift card isn't valid, but I'm not able to redeem it. What do I do?

I recently purchased 3 $100 Apple gift cards from a CVS store. When I tried to check the balance on them, it didn't work. I got a message saying that 2 of the cards aren't valid, even though they're supposed to be activated. I'm trying to figure out what the issue is, but none of the options suggested by apple work. I spent a lot of money on these things, and I really don't want it to go to waste. What should I do?

When redeeming a gift card, (1) the amount will be credited to your Apple ID balance and (2) then you need to set your Apple ID balance as your default payment.


(1) See -> Check your Apple ID balance

(2) See -> Add a payment method to your Apple ID

Add a payment method to your Apple ID – Apple Support (UK)


If you update your payment method or add funds to your Apple ID balance, It would take about 1 to 3 business days in order to process.

If you're still unable to update your payment method, Contact Apple Support.
