Can't get my iphone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.1.1) our of dark mode?

The background on all my screens is black. I go to setting and switch to dark mode and the background on the setting turns black as expected along with everything else. I switch to light and only the settings screen backgrounds turn white. All the other screen backgrounds remain black. How do I fix this? I don't want the dark background.

Dark Mode is off in Display and Brightness, currently it has Light checked. I've restarted my phone more than once. I've done the hard reset and still nothing. HELP! iPhone Home Screen becomes dark by defalut I am trying to make my phone into a dumb phone, and make my home screen a solid grey. Every time I go to pick the color of the bar at the bottom of the home screen and set the color, the wallpaper automatically darkens or the bar at the bottom changes shade. Any ideas? iPhone "Dark" mode. Guys and Girls, My recent problem is that since I've upgraded my iPhone 11 to iOS 16.3 I can't get it out of "Dark" mode. I reboot and it's ok until I enter my first app and then it goes dark again. Any ideas? Phil

Try and restart your iPhone and try changing the background settings again to see if the problem persists
