How to save apps and progress on one AppleID and switch to another AppleID??

I have a 6th generation iPad for my kid. When it was purchased, I set it up with my icloud email address (mom@icloud) as the AppleID and assigned the user as an adult. The kid has been using the ipad with this AppleID (doesn't know the password).

What I would like to do is to switch the AppleID on this iPad to one that I created for my kid (kid@icloud), that is specifically assigned to a child. However, I do not want to lose her app progress or her apps. Is there any way to do this???

Let me know if clarification is needed.

TLDR; need to change an appleID on an iPad but keep apps and app progress.....

We can certainly understand your concern and see you came to us from the article Change your Apple ID.

To answer your question, you will not be able to transfer the meta data from one Apple ID to another. Once you switch to another Apple ID the information associated with the old Apple ID will be gone except for physical content on the device like photos and videos.
