Find My watch not pinging

I lost my watch temporarily. I tried the Find My to play a sound on it. It didn’t make a noise. It’s not on silent or anything. Once found it’s still not playing a sound. Why is this function broken??

Now that you have found the watch...

Force restart the watch. i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

Then while it is restarting Force Restart the paired iphone

Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

It worked for me.
