Work around to use two displays with MacBook Air M1

What is the thought behind in only allowing new MacBook Air and MacBooks to only send to one display. We have been using two displays with our MacBooks for 6 years. It is a big disappointment to have a new computer and only send to one display.

Any work around ?

Thanks Frank Fish

There is no workaround: Use one or more external displays with your Mac - Apple Support (MK)

"For Mac computers with the Apple M1 Chip: You can connect a single external display to your Mac. Docks don’t increase the number of displays you can connect."
