Move "home" location on Apple Maps doesn't work

Apple Maps doesn't have most house numbers in Indonesia.

So, the pin for my home address is always placed wrongly.

The option to refine (move) the pin does not work for the "home" location. It only works for manually set pins.

If I could edit the coordinates it would help, but that's as well not possible.

I have tried to move the "home" location with iPhone, iPad and Mac, but doesn't work.

So I think this is an issue in the Maps-App. But I can't choose Maps-App as a topic in this forum.

This results in location based reminders being unusable and so on.

This error is persistent since at least 2019.

Hello EasyKoni,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Let's report the issue within the app. These steps should help:

"From the main Maps screen

  1. Tap your image next to the search field, then tap Reports.
  2. Select an option like Report Street Issue or Report Place Issue.iPhone screen showing Maps Reports options
  3. Enter your information, then tap Agree.
  4. Add the information for the issue, then tap Send."

More details can be found here: Report an incident in Maps on your iPhone

This will make sure it gets sent to the correct department.

Cheers!

Hey there EasyKoni,

To report an issue regarding Maps on macOS, you'll need to follow these steps.

Report a problem with Maps on Mac

"You can report inaccurate or incomplete information about locations, directions, and more.

Note: To report an issue, you must have a Mac with Apple silicon, the Apple T2 Security Chip, or a Touch Bar. See the Apple Support articles Mac computers with Apple silicon and Mac models with the Apple T2 Security Chip.

  1. In the Maps app  on your Mac, choose Maps > Report an Issue.
  2. If you haven’t reported an issue before, choose whether Apple can follow up by email, then click Agree.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Add to Maps
    • Report Street Issue
    • Report Place Issue

  1. Follow the onscreen instructions to provide the requested information, and include any additional information.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. You can review any reports you submitted in the last 90 days. Click the User Account button  in the toolbar, then click Reports.

You can also report an issue for a location from its place card. Click a location on the map, scroll down in the place card, click Report an Issue, then follow the onscreen instructions."

Have a good one!

Thank you Omar, for trying to help me.

I tried to report a mapping issue like you described above several times.

But it doesn't get fixed through this, since maybe Apple doesn't consider this as a map issue that they don't have house numbers in my area.

Also please note that there is no option to report missing house numbers or so.

I also updated OpenStreetMap in hope that Apple will update their maps from the available info there.

But nothing happened since over a year now.

To show the error I have made a screenshot collection while taking the following steps:

  1. I deleted my home address in AddressBook
  2. I set a pin on the map and marked it as a favorite
  3. I set that fave Pin as my home address
  4. Updated address book
  5. Pin is still there, marked as a favorite and hasn't moved
  6. Search for "home" and choose the blue house icon what should be my home
  7. Info popup opens with my home Location wrong
  8. Choosing "Refine Location" and nothing happens

I made this example with a random pin and not my actual home...
