Ringtones
I have purchased/downloaded music to use as my ringtone but not able to do it followed all instructions but nothing is happening

You cannot transfer them from ipad.
For itunes store purchased ringtones (not music)
Settings, Sounds & Haptics, Ringtone, "download all purchased tones".
For music or ringtones from elsewhere
They must be less than 30 seconds
They must be file type.m4r
They must be dragged from their explorer position into the screen of an open iTunes sync session.
